Ronn Robinson
Director of State Implementation,
National Center on Education and the Economy
Ronn is the National Center on Education and the Economy’s Director of
state implementation for the Tough Choices Tough Times recommendations
of the New Commission on the Skills of the American Workforce. He
formerly was Senior Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Achieve,
Inc., and helped develop and lead several other national and state non-profit
school improvement organizations including the New American Schools
Development Corporation and Washington’s Schools for the Twenty First
Century. He also helped develop and lead the business backed non-profit
education improvement organizations California Business for Education
Excellence and Washington’s Partnership for Learning.
Ronn was a senior executive with The Boeing Company where he directed
education policy and philanthropy and supported Boeing CEO’s in their
education related activities. He was also an education policy advisor to two
Washington Governors, was deputy director of the Washington state budget
office, was chair of a state university board of trustees, a member of the state
board of education, co-chair of a university education policy forum, and
director of several state education reform commissions.
Ronn was active in the national Business Roundtable education and
workforce policy task force on behalf of Boeing, and in state Business
Roundtable education policy task forces in California, Washington and
Illinois. He was also a senior executive for an Internet start-up company, an
executive, consultant and lobbyist for a national, state and local education
association, a wholesale representative for a major national corporation, and
a congressional aide.
Ronn earned his degree in political science at Seattle Pacific University, and
received his executive management training in the graduate school of
business at the University of Washington and through the senior executive
leadership program at the Boeing Center for Leadership & Learning. |
