Roderick Paige
Chairman, Chartwell Education Group LLC
Rod Paige, former U.S. Secretary of Education (2001-2005), co-founded the Chartwell Education Group upon his departure from the government. The group assists both public and private enterprises focused on pre-K, K-12 and post-secondary education in the United States and abroad. Prior to his tenure at the U.S. Department of Education, Paige served as Dean of the College of Education at Texas Southern University, where he established the university’s Center for Excellence in Urban Education. Following his time there, he was Superintendent of the Houston Independent School District and in 2001, he was named National Superintendent of the Year by the American Association of School Administrators. Secretary Paige was a Public Policy Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in 2005. |
