  Anthony Carnevale
Senior Fellow, National Center on
Education and the Economy


Tony Carnevale is an internationally recognized authority on education, training, and employment. He was appointed by President Clinton as a Commissioner to the White House Advisory Committee on Technology and Adult Education and Training, which continued in President Bush's administration. While serving as Vice President and Director of Human Resource Studies at the Committee for Economic Development, Dr. Carnevale was also appointed by President Clinton to Chair the National Commission for Employment Policy. Earlier, he had been President of the Institute for Workbased Learning, an applied research center affiliated with the American Society for Training and Development. Dr. Carnevale has held senior staff positions in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives and the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. He was director of legislative affairs for the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.
